UFC 183 – This fight was a big deal in the fighting world, as it was Anderson Silva vs. Nate Diaz. Once upon a time, Anderson Silva was the UFC’s undefeated champion, some would say the best ever, at the middleweight division in the UFC. That was until UFC 162 happened, in which he lost to an up and coming fighter from Jersey, Chris Weidman. After the first loss, he got a shot at a rematch, a redemption fight to reclaim his belt. However, during this fight he ended up breaking his leg when Weidman checked one of his infamous leg kicks.

UFC 183 would be Anderson Silva’s first fight back after mending his broken leg for over a year, and the UFC looked to us to help them promote this momentous event. After much deliberation, we decided on creating an approach that played off of each of their nicknames as well as their reputation within their UFC careers.

UFC 171 featured headliner Johnny Hendrix competing against the Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler. In order to promote these fights, we wanted to highlight some of the coolest moments from their career while still making this original and creative. Moving forward and keeping that in mind, we took clips from our favorite moments for both Robbie Lawler and Johnny Hendrix and combined live action footage with motion graphics to create a gritty landscape with additional audio and sound effects to hype up the commercial.

We were tasked with creating a broadcast commercial for an upcoming pay per view event that the UFC was promoting. They came to us looking for something rough, gritty and edgy. We combined some of their b-roll footage and put it together with a gritty motion graphics package that showcased the headliners names.
